One of the three first choice regiments to serve in as an officer for the Bavarian nobility - very entre nous. The Bavarian version of the curassiers. Fought in 1870/71 war and in WW1. They wore the best looking uniforms of all Imperial units IMO.Comment

Sorry to misinform. What I said below pertains to the 1. Schw. R.R. not the second - late evening post -, although the 2nd regiment's uniform was also very nice and they were also employed as heavy cavalry (kurassiere) and they also fought in 1870/71 and during WW1.
