    Help needed on W'berg medal

    Hi folks,
I am on the lookout for a mid-war (ie 1916) Silberne Militärverdienstmedaille for Wurttemberg (see link below). How can one tell if they are early, mid, late war, or even year of issue?

Maybe this will help. IMO a period medalbar with the Silberne Militärverdienstmedaille for Wurttemberg.

In general I would say the worse the material used the later in war one would be. That said however it is possible that better material medals were distributed uneven during the war so possibly in some cases lesser material medals could have been awarded earlier than better material made medals. So IMO it would be hard to tell when which medal was awarded. What is in this case more important that if you get a bar with an EK2 on it, the EK2 is located after the Silb. Mil.verdienstmed if not you have a bar constructed in the thirties or at best a Prussian bar with a Wuerttemberg medal on it (but thirties bar is more likely).

Nice bar, indeed. Thanks for your replies on thread, and for those via PM. I will have a hunt around and see what I can find/buy!
