    1914 EK1 Help?

    Hey Guys - Can anyone help me with this EK1 and it's probable maker?

      Tough one to ID because it's so generic. It'll get down to close comparisons of the frame and hardware with other EKs. I'd catalogue it as "unknown maker" unless I had a weekend to spare.

        Thank you, Trevor. . It appears to have been a late 1916 awarded piece given that it came with a case, carton and document.

        That said, the date of the document is December 1916. The cross could have come later.

          IMO the needle system is what you mostly find on Wagner crosses.
          Typical for Wagner is the oval shape of the hinge. Ten again the core is not one you see normally on Wagner crosses.

            Indeed, the elevated hinge had me immediately thinking Wagner. But, the pin seems too thick and the core is a mystery to me.

              Here is my "faulted" Wagner & Sohn. Also with the thick pin and a core you should expect to see on a Wagner.
