Picked up this large rememberance Plaque - 64 cm x 52 cm made for a brewery owner Konstantin Lenz - Lenzbrauerei, in Obergünzburg, Bavaria for his brewery workers and guesthouse personal, who took part in WW1 - 1914 -1916 (not killed). Quite well-made, two identical Plaques were made, the one shown with Gold colour lettering for the directors in the board room and one with silver lettering for the personal in the works.
I've two questions (1) is there much of a market in these plaques ? (2) you see often the dates 1914 - 1916, on many plaques, commemeration coins and donation medals, why, the war carried on until 1918 ! did they expect it to end in 1916 ? any info appreciated.
