    could you help me with identification? No idea what this is.

      Hi it"s a hungarian royal Honved stringbelt for Infantry officers, I cannot recall the exact introduction date, but it's sure late 19th century, it was in use till the beginning of WW1. You have tie a knot on this like the one on the picture (the blue is for police officers, but it was made the same way).

            Prussian hussars wore similar kind of belt/escharpe, undoubtedly due to Hungarian pattern. I'll check a reference book at home and post later.
