Lemcke Frames
It seems to me that while I've studied the frames, Lemcke used two different frames for their Iron crosses. Manufacturer was naturally easy to determine to Lemcke as some EK2 and EK1 were marked LL.
Photo Credits to Walther, Emedals and a picture I took for research purposes out of the Wernitz book.
Lemcke Frame 1
- Lower left inner corner is shaped like a + on top of an L.
- The upper right inner corner is shaped like an arrow tilted slightly towards the right.
- The bead count is slightly higher than on Frame 2.
The beads are numbering from 31-34 on each arm and the edges from 28-29 beads.
Lemcke: Frame 2
Some things to point out.
- A low amount of beadings compared to other 1870 Iron Cross frames. Numbering only 30-31 beads per arm and only 26-27 per edge of the arm.
- Has a Lug.
- The right side upper inner corners is shaped like a flipped H.
- The right side lower inner corner is shaped like an U.
In general, the crosses aren't really curving towards the outer corner from the inner corner in a shape of a 1/4ths circle, but shaped more like a parabel.
One thing to note is that,
Frame 1, I have so seen it in A cored crosses.
Frame 2: Both in A and B core crosses.
This might help to timeline them a bit.
I'm open to discussion once again
