    KO 800 maker ?

I bought a KO 800 EK2 1914 cross and several online lists says that maker is Königliches Münzamt Orden. But someone said that recent research proofs that it's Klein & Quenzer. The source that it is K&Q is Mr. Frank Wernitz in "Das Eiserne Kreuz: 1813 - 1870 - 1914".

    What is correct ?

Rather Klein & Quenzer. You can also read the discussion here:

PS. Königliches Münzamt in Berlin has no more existed in WW1. Since 1871 it's name was Preussische Staatsmünze - and the Prussian State Mint has never produced Iron Crosses. Only coins and medals

Iron Corsses were produced by Königliches Münzamt in Stuttagrt (Wurttemberg), but these were marked K.M.S.T.

I've always known KO to be the "Kaiserlicheordensamt".
