I also have a FA cross 1st class made out of steel which is pretty easy to find.
I envy the Godet, It's a true beauty.

Nice Godet 1st class. 2nd class, is it magnetic? Screwback does not belong to the cross. Cross is painted, recently. May not be a good one.

Right. The cross with screwback is well known Paul Meybauer version for private market. Here is mine Cross and Gegenplatte (counterplate) are magnetic, screw is of brass.

...problem is that on my cross the brass ones not fit.....i have check it with 3 brass ones and 2 silver ones.....only the silver ones fits ...in the brass ones the hole in the screw is to big.....

....it is no problem to change the screw from silver to brass.....but i dont think that on this cross belongs a brass one......but only my two cent...

In my cross also the bolt is of brass, in your seems to be made of a white metal. Could you show a picture without plate and disc?

Meybauer let blobs of paint go through? I know there are multiple variants, I have an awarded piece and marked Meybauer pin back. I know we kid ourselves that Imperial quality control is second to none, but paint blobs?

The seco d class, something I have pondered for a long time, the twisted ose versus the ring, which is war time and which post war, can we tell? Or both war time and post war.

Just looking to learn.. So ease, no offence meant with my previous post. I have similar questions on Brunswick 2nd class, variations in Ose, can we date them..?
