The Most Decorated Bavarian NCO ever!

One of my sources has mailed this magnificent ribbon bar to me. Alas, no PLM winner, no Ritter von Whatever, just the most decorated Bavarion NCO in the whole Imperial Army!

Bavarian Max Joseph Bravery Medal (only the fourth ribbon bar I know of)
    Bavarian Military Merit Cross
Prussian 1914 Iron Cross, Second Class
Bavarian Military Merit Cross on the Statute Ribbon (Peace-time award!)
(again, about the fourth or fifth of these I've seen!)
Merit Cross of The Bavarian Order of Saint Michael
Bavarian Jubilee Medals for 1905 & The Wedding Jubilee (probably)
    China Service Medal
    Bavarian Long Service Medal
    Prussian Centennial Medal of 1897

Talk about class society.. It's a fine bar, even if you'll never know the man behind it.

Whoever he was he was one brave soldier...or crazy, the terms are often interchangeable.

          NIIICE one!

Why unresearcheable? With a little hope he is listed in the 1908 Ordensalmanach and You will find him after going through hundreds of scribbly old German pages..

            "Hundreds"? You mean THOUSANDS...

            DOUBLE columns....

            thousands

IF he was vain enough to have PAID to be listed.

The TWO peacetime Bavarian decorations are one more than I have ever seen in an NCO group, and suggest he was in continuous long service into the war, not a recalled OffStellv or FeldLt dR/dL. I'd GUESS he was in Bav Inf Rgt 6 from the 1897.

And I have all the Bravery Medal holders' citations in the "Golden Book" too!!
