First i thought a middle portion might be missing but under inspection i would say that nothing has been removed , now im wondering if i have a very nice enamel brooch perhaps to be worn by a woman. Anyone seen anything like this before?

Looks like a 2 mark coin holder like this one.

Yeah, check the diameter. 2 mark is 28 mm, 3 mark 33 mm, 5 mark 38 mm

I've once had one like IGGY has, but I've never seen one that's got a nice enamel wreath.
