Time Period for this ribbon bar

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help clarify when this 'large or broad' style of ribbon bar was phased out and replaced with the more more common thinner ribbon bar.

My guess is that the large ribbon bar was used pre 1914, but I would welcome any guidance on this. Thanks in advance,

It could be as early as 1897, but I would estimate that bar is from the very early 1900's.

I agree. This style bar was from the late 1800s until early WW1. Then it fell out of favor for the newer style bar.

The type of bar was also worn in the early war years. Mostly by older veterans.
