    Veteran Association Badges

I've been collecting these Veteran Association badges for about a year now. I love the color and detail on most of these.

Another Prussian badge. This one is missing its 25-year oak leaves.....

I'm thinking this one is a Hesse/Nassau badge.

And lastly, a very common type - I see these at every show.

True that it's common. But, there could be any number of different association medals and badges hung from the common suspender which makes for a widespread (and inexpensive) collecting area.

It's interesting to note that Der Deutscher Kriegerbund was an enlisted man only vet association primarily for Prussia and its satellite states founded in 1873 and continuing under that name until 1897, when it became the Preußischer Landeskriegerverband. After 1900, it fell under the umbrella of the national Kyffhäuserbund.

So, the the last badge you show is the oldest of the lot being pre-1897 and the PLKV badges at the bottom of your post date from 1897 onwards, but are likely pre-WWI.
