Need help with engraved 1914 EK1

can you help me please with this EK....is this engraving the maker or the owner or simply a fake?
Pics bluff a little bit - the core has its complete black finish, there is only dirt in the corners

The cross looks like a good B.H.Mayer. The engraving could be period done
but it is definitely not a maker's mark.

The engraving looks good, but I'm not exactly sure what it's supposed to say.
