      Eric-

      Nice medal!

Generally, how rare are spanges on 1870-1871 KDM medalbars? How common are they compared to the medals themselves? Are some spanges more common than others?

      Thanks,
      Brian

        Hi Brian,

The Spanges for the KDM are not altogether that rare, but are less common than the medals themselves. Off the top of my head, I believe there were approximately 25 or so authorized. There are more if you count the unofficial
versions. Some Spanges are of course rarer than others. I think the scarcest
is the one for Beune La Rolande.

          hello,
i agree with you, the BEAUNE LA ROLANDE ist the rarest one.
but totaly there where 28 issued - from these are 3 one not unofficial once, they are only an other example of writing.
          these are SPICHERN and SPICHEREN
AN DER LISAINE and A.D. LISAINE
and finally MONT VALERIEN and A MONT VALERIEN
          hope i can help.

but one question, do some of you know how the clasps orderd on the medalbar?

          how you want?
          in historical order?
          or some else

what ist the bar with the most added clasps issued?

          best regards christian
