Austrian Military Merit Medal

I am in need of help please - I'm looking for a spare ribbon for the military merit medal, but I have seen the same style of ribbon used on many other Austrian medals....

To me it looks like the same pattern on the ribbon and it may be interchange? Is this correct or have I missed a subtle difference?

That is called War Ribbon. Used for awards during wartime.

you are right, this is same ribbon. Originally the ribbon was designed for Bravery Medal (Tapferkreitsmedaille), but was used also as war ribbon for other Austrian decorations:
- Military Merit Cross (Militär-Verdienstkreuz, like yours),
- Military Merit Medal "Signum Laudis" (Militär-Verdienstmedaille),
- Merit Cross, called also Franz-Josef Cross (Verdienstkreuz)
- Franz-Josef Order

Last three desorations exist also with civilian (peace) red ribbon.
