    Bavarian 2nd Class, Exist??

    Dear All

today I met a Bavarian 2nd Class without swords but with Crown.

Is this grade ever exist in the period? or simply the swords are missing?

There is no signs of swords device ever inserted into the hole.

    any comments are welcome.

    thank you

      Hi,

yes, the cross with crown and without swords has existed. But at your one the swords were removed. The hole on a cross originally w/o swords looks different.

At this moment I have only w/o crown and w/o swords, but the hole in both versions looks same.

      Greetings
      Tomasz

And here is one with crown but without swords (sorry for quality, but I have scanned this picture is from a book).

Together four variants of 2nd class (3. Form after 1913) have existed:
        1. with crown and swords,
        2. with crown without swords,
        3. without crown but with swords
        4. without crown and swords

          Hi Tom
          thank you for your comments.
However, is there any example that my kind ever awarded as without Swords by removing the swords??

            I don't suppose.

Besides, there is something odd with this medal bar. On the first place we have a "Beamtenband" (officials ribbon) for non-military persons. And later the Iron Cross on combatant ribbon and long service medal...

            greetings
            Tomasz

PS. Please notice also, that the EK ribbon is really well used, and this of MVK in very good condition.
