    U-boat Award Doc - Watermark

I have just noticed that the U-boat award document I have has a watermark. I was wondering if has anyone seen this mark before or know if this is the name of the manufacturer or location etc..

Signature easy enough-- Heinrich Middendorff, born 14.5.1884, died between 1963-1979.

      navy 1.4.02-31.8.20

Fähnrich zur See 11.4.03 A, LtzS 1905, Oberleutnant zS 15.10.07 A, KaptLt zs 22.3.13 Dd, KorvKapt zs 29.6.20

I don't have a 1902/03 to verify, but most of the Crew of 1902 were sent out on their foreign cruise sea training on SMS "Charlotte," and so many years later got Colonial Medal with bar "Venezuela 1902/03."

He got both classes of Iron Crosses and Oldenburg FAKs, Bavarian MMO4X (16.1.16), Saxon Albert Order-Knight 1stX, Hessian Bravery Medal, Lübeck Hanseatic Cross, and before the war had a Prussian Crown Order 4th, Austro-Hung. Franz Joseph Order-Knight, & Italian Order of Sts maurice & lazarus-Knight. Probably the Colonial "Venezuela," WW1 Uboat Badge, and after the war XXV Years Service Cross.

He was attending the Marine-Akademie when the war started, then served as Gunnery Officer of SMS "Victoria Luise" until November 1914, was Adjutant of the Generalkommando of the Marinekorps to June 1917, then attended Uboat school and was CO of U-16 and U-30 to March 1918, after which he served as CO of U-82 in the IVth Flottila until the end of the war.

He was never recalled for naval service in WW2, since he was too vital to the war effort in his job as Chairman of the Board of Deutsche-Weke Kiel A.G. shipyard.
