Buckle is an aged FAKE. :

Any Imperial German Buckle that has the Sharp Pointed, Sheared Belt Attachment Pins that are cut at an Angle like this buckle has is well known in the collector community to be a Replica or Fake buckle that has been made in Modern Times.

Apparently this example is a modern made replica of the M95/Model 1895 buckle. It has been painted like many original Bavarian M95 buckles had been painted after the war started to subdue the bright brass color and make the buckle non-reflective in sunlight. Unfortunately this example you have shown is a known modern era manufactured fake or replica buckle that someone has painted and artificially aged to make the buckle appear to be old or "appear to be original" in order to fool someone. It may also have been used by a re-enactor and possibly show this wear and aged painted appearance from use by a re-enactor.

The belt has a WWII style reinforced catch and may be a reproduction too.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. I wasn't sure about originality, not interested in Imperial buckles, anyway I bought for a price of replica.

I have seen those types by originals as well - please see attached.

The punched out type keeper is not uncommon on imperial buckles, but the one you have shown is quite different. The clipped prongs are a sure sign of a reproduction, which has been known for decades. All of the examples you have shown have brass prongs attached to the brass bar. The buckle you originally asked about has a chromed hollow bar and the prongs are loosely held inside of it. This feature was not added to German buckles until 1916 and is not seen on brass buckles.
