A very fine group indeed, I congratulate.

Just a note on the beautiful, Austrian Militärverdienstkreuz II Kl. with "War Decoration": it wasn't actually "made" by R. Marschall. Professor Rudolf Marschall was the designer of this award and his mark/signature testified the authorized production (he got royalties).

The producers of the "authorized" MVK II and I Class were Messrs. Souval of Vienna (well-known to III Reich collectors for their post-1945 copies).

                    Best wishes,

                    E.L.

Thanks E.L. for the info. These are not my area of expertise, and it's nice to learn something new and helpful. That is what makes this forum fun

                        You're welcome.

For more info on this Imperial Austrian Award, please see the "Austro Hungarians" thread http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...466535&page=23 from post 344 onwards.

                        BTW, beautiful, Bavarian pieces!

                        Enzo (E.L.)

It is GEB.H. for the maker Gebrüder (Brothers) Hemmerle in Munich. Certainly, GH are initials of the same maker
