    EK2 - asking for opinion

I have this EK2 1914 which look like it is heavy used and worn.
The cross measures 44 x 44 mm and core is pretty loose.
    No maker mark is visible.

On which known EKs were these cores used? And what about the size?

I found some same cores in the database http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=263078

But still wonder about the frame...

Cross is original, but unfortunately the core is generic (used by more than one maker). But you are right, the frame is interesting, slightly oversized for ww1 cross, and with distinctive claws in inner corners. So there is a chance that you find marked cross with the same frame in the future, which will help you tu put the maker´s name on this nice piece.
