    In Eiserner Zeit

    Hi guys,
i have various of these medals and i have a question. All of them are marked by the maker "Hosaeus" yet there are differences on the letters. Some appear thinner and others thicker.
Did this maker use more than one cast? Or are these being faked. I know they are too cheap for someone to bother but today they reproduce everything.

I am posting 3 different examples below.

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

Hermann Hosaeus was not the maker, but a sculptor and medalist who designed the medal.
It's likely that several dies were made from Hosaeus' design to accommodate the volume of these needed, which would explain the variations.

Ahh ok. Thanks. So he was the designer of the medal not the producer. Therefore many makers = many variations.
I even have one that it looks to be made of clay.
