I agree with the other responses that this badge does not conform with a known original variation and has several characteristics only seen on fakes. That said, this one does not look just like any fake that I have yet seen, but I do not claim to have seen all existing fake versions. I rather like the command flag on the front.
You also asked if this was an officer's badge. Of course the question is moot if this badge is fake but I think that all observers were officers (am I wrong here?) and I do not believe that rank played a part in badge quality in the cases where EM and NCO also qualifiedComment
