        Hello Ed,

Imo, this example features the typical physical characteristics of the Rothe & Neffe product produced prior to May 1945. Although Rothe & Neffe were not official commissioned suppliers of the PLM to the Ordens Chancellery they privately provided a beautifully crafted, elegant replacement presenting details superior to some known war-time examples.

        Hope this helps.
        E.

              Nice looking piece.

...Rothe & Neffe product produced prior to May 1945.
I don't disbelieve this statement but I've always been curious about it, as I know it has many supporters and yet I can't recall seeing the evidence. How do we know R&N produced prior to 1945?
              Best regards,
              Streptile

                  Thanks Don.

I read that thread before I asked my question. There is no answer in there, except perhaps for those who have seen the photo of Field Marshal Archduke Joseph in the book by Ferenc Fekete and Attila Baum, A Magyar Királyság Kitüntései 1920-1945.
                  Best regards,
                  Streptile
