I bought this off of e-stand in June 2015 with assurances it is authentic. Should I have any worries with it? Opinions please. Regards, Ron.

Evaluate the item, not the story and not the seller's reputation!
If you PM/contact me without the courtesy of using your first name, please don't be offended if I politely ignore you!

Hi Ron,
I'll be more than happy to buy it back from you for the $345 + the postage you paid me for it, if you want.
Item was previously discussed here: http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=751608

It looks to have Asterix mark on the pin, which is marking for non-precious metal, at least in Austria. So I tend to believe it is silver plated bronze, not real silver.
I had a very similar piece, that came with official diploma and sales/storage carton box. It was even more worn, so the base material clearly showed off.
What is more important, when I purchased it, I did some study and learned that there are many good fakes of this type. The difference between original and fake is in ending of halfmoon peaks. While on original they end precisely at the line of star arms, on fakes they go slightly inside, to the body of the star.
Please take it with reserve as I am not expert in Gallipoli stars.
All I can really help with is to post some pics of mine piece for comparison.Attached Files

Hi Miro. I have reviewed several posts on these and it looks like the elongated crescent appears in several different makers.

I agree, but I was not speaking about different makers. Your piece seems to have identical hinge, catch and rivet configuration as mine (ex). Or were there more makers who used identical hardware and rivet configuration, but different obverse?
