My m89 battle sword - looking for info

i recently got this M1889 degen. I absolutely love it of course and like to obtain as much info as possible

    - its marked Weyersberg&Co Solingen

other marks and numbers dont reveal much to me so im looking for someone who can help

I know it a heavy cavalry degen. Is it possible to tell if it was used by Dragoons, Hussars or ....

A very interesting detail: the previous owner was living a village very close to Halen, Hasselt. A place that is known for the ww1 battle of Haelen 1914, wich is an internationally famous battle where the Belgian army defeated the german cavalry, who where trying to penetrate the Belgian defenses but got slaughterd by Belgian machine guns. So there where a lot of German uhlans, dragoons, currasiers..

Hope the pictures are clear, feel free to ask

It's actually more of a light cavalry sword. Heavy cavalry like the Kuerassiers, tended to wear different patterns, like the Pallasch. Yours is a Prussian M89 Kavalleriedegen.

      Nice troopers service degen.
Chip is correct in his accessment of your degen.
Here's a couple of pics of a Currassier's pallasch. A noticeably different style of hilt.
