      Wow, big congratulations.

That's a very nice cross even without the stabilizing hooks: an AWS with their swollen pin, which is itself a bit uncommon, and the large 925 mark, also very uncommon but 100% original.

The hooks, as you likely know, were probably added later by a jeweler. I don't believe AWS offered this model -- but I could be wrong. I myself have one AWS with added hooks, and I love it.

Anyway, you've found a great cross.
      Best regards,

Did not know about the swollen pin and the large 925, great information!

Thats good to know, I liked the cross but thought the fangs to be a little to wide and not period at all. Thanks for showing and thanks for the insight Trevor. TPK

I should say that, as with any cross with added hooks, that is of course a possibility. But I've seen more than one cross with these wide, flat hooks that I believe was period, so I think it was a style used then.

              A great cross Green!

I have seen hooks wide like this before on a AWS cross.
I have no problem in believing they are period, so naturally in this case I agree with what Trevor says

I think I have also, but I can't remember where. Got pics?

                  Thanks Dansson

One thing that I also noticed was the patina around the needle system and the hooks, this is everywhere the same!

It's an outstanding cross, with that distinctive AWS design.. just beautiful.

I'd love to see the front of yours. Check the core.

Here is mine. Same core and frame as to thread-starter, with jeweler-added hooks on plates:
