I believe the mark on the pin is an asterisk (*) which I think means the pin, which on pre-WWI awards was gold is in silver-gilt.

                  Very beautiful order.

                    Hello,

a fine breast star indeed, I congratulate.

Regarding the mark struck on the pin, check whether it's a "swan". If so, this means that the piece passed in auction in France, sometime in the past.

                    All the best,

                    Enzo (E.L.)

Thanks for the comments guys !!

@Enzo thanks allot for your comment !!

it is indeed swan ,i was looking at the mark upside down that's why i could not figure it out what it is .

i have been told that this example is mid to late 1800's before 1900 production, this star is larger than Wagner's production of Order of Red Eagle and Order of crown breast stars ,everything is larger including pin.

any idea what 3 lines mark means on hinge and pin ?

here is picture of my Prussian Breast Stars so far,all 3 by Wagner.

                            Hello,

I'm glad that my suggestion could have been helpful.

the three-lines mark on the pin and hinge are just a sign put by the jeweller, in order to mount the right pin to the right star, since they were adapted by hand. Such signs do appear on stars from any nation...

Best wishes and compliments for the beautiful pieces,

                            Enzo (E.L.)
