I would like to contribute to this interesting thread with a picture -obverse and reverse- of all 4 classes of this fine award.

There was also a "special class" with brilliants, awarded once only, to ambassador Mérey de Kapos-Mére for his merits in the talks for Russia's armistice.

The Kriegskreuz für Zivilverdienste is a fascinating decoration, designed in the best Jugendstil!... In fact it was in production also at the famous Wiener Werkstätte...
