Cased mounted EKII (Einzelspange)

Like to show this cased mounted EKII (Einzelspange).
This was the first time I have seen such a set.
I'm curious about your opinions?

Hi Henk,

like i told you before.. can't see any issues with it.
The case case looks period to me.
Both hinge and push button look fine.
The exterior of the case reminds me of cases for imperial flight badges.
The inlay for the cross looks very well made, no spaces between the border like seen on many replica cases. The cross fits just perfect.
In my opinion a nice original private jeweler case.

For me, the issue with this set is the case.

It seems to have been designed to fit this specific mounted cross. I'm not sure if another would fit into its insert.

Perhaps I'm wrong, but if I'm not, I would be suspicious. That still doesn't mean it's not a period piece, but it makes it less likely in my opinion.

The fit is also a bit tight on the top and the bottom. Also the gathering of the fabric covering looks a bit sloppy around the pin.

Overall, this one looks like one to judge in-hand to me.

You are right, its designed, to fit this specific mounted cross. That was just for me the reason to buy it. Also because it fit so well and the measurements are indeed very tight and centered.
I cannot explain the sloppy gathering, but it looks like material folding, be caused by time or use. Also the inlay and case looks used true time, in my eyes.
Fortunately I had the opportunity to judge it in- hand, and.......it feels, looks and smell (old) good to me. The seller is a very reliable and passionate collector! Also thinking ...why should such cases do not exist?
I´am aware its a controversial piece. I cannot compare it with others. It is what it is.
I rest my case....
