    Naval Cadet Dagger ID Needed Help With

    Naval Cadet Dagger ID Needed Help With .. This was a fresh US veterans family purchased dagger and has a name on the backside of the scabbard ..Can anyone help me with this mans ID and or naval history .. See pictures

      It appears to be engraved: "Gr. von Schwerin", which I think is Graf von Schwerin (i.e. Count von Schwerin) from the noble house of von Schwerin in Mecklenburg.
      Gerhard, Graf von Schwerin was a WWI officer, Freikorps volunteer and Panzer general in WWII. It's not him, but maybe a brother or cousin.
      Other than that, I don't know.

        Unfortunately there were two men in the Imperial German Navy with that name, Achim Graf v. Schwerin and Kurt. So it is not possible to determine which one the dagger belonged to.

          Can you show a full view of both sides of the dagger and scabbard and also both sides of the etched blade?
