    EK 2 1914-need ID on ring marking

    marked with either a "7" or an "L"...can anyone provide maker & is there a Named Manufacturer's listng for marked 1914 EK 2's??....Thanks in advane for all replies,

      Hi!

      It COULD be "Heinrich Schneider, Leipzig". The mark should be an "S" with strong serifs, so often looks like "7".
      There is a very good listing of the so-far identified makers in the "Orden & Ehrenzeichen"-magazin (Volume 93, October 1914). This is a publication of the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ordenskunde". Maybe this also can be found online.

        Close up pictures would really help.
        There are several different lists showing makers. Not all of them come up
        with the same results. A forum search will provide lints to some of them.

        You also might try using our datebase thread. It lists most known makers and provides
        good pictures to let you try to match core and frame details. ---
