    shortened M16 ersatz Bayo

    Hello gents,

this one just came out of the woodwork today, do you have any idea about this one? The blade has been shortened, and the scabbard to fit a trench knife scabbard? Any opinions are welcome!
    Thanks for watching!

Neat little Ersatz bayo! IMO, with those blade contours, a factory produced variant, and not cut-down. Nice find!

Nice find, a rare combination trench knife-bayonet, known by collectors as the EB2, from Anthony Carter’s guide - Ersatz Bayonet No. 2. Some were made by F. Koeller & Co. and some by R. Klauss & Co. but most are unmarked.

Though it could be used as a bayonet, this piece is normally lumped in with the trench knives. The same category as the Demag crankhandle and others.

thanks a lot, I was convinced that it has been shortened. If somebody is interested in the piece just pm me, as I'm going to sell or trade this one.
            Thanks again for your help!

I've made some better shots of the dagger in daylight, can you reconise the marking in the blade? Thanks!
