    Hi,
    Its Ullrich 13 on the bottom and HA Schmidt Wurzen 12 on the top.
    It is of course probable that they were swithced, but this must have been period as the thing was in a barn for decades and the soldier that had it scratched hi initials "HH" into the lid twice and ditto for the bottom.

      As these 1910 pattern aluminum kits were supposedly recalled from the field, very few of them survived. In all my years of collecting, I have managed to get my hands on only two quality examples with the original black paint still on them. To find one with unit markings would be especially nice.

        Great pics. Just bought myself a 1916 dated enamel mess tin with spork and cup. Where was the cup (also enamel with ear) worn?
