    Request for Help Identifying Neck Ribbon

    Gentlemen;

    Can anyone tell us what we have here? This is a wide neck ribbon (56mm wide), black with white side stripes. We have owned it for close to 50 years and it does not low under uv light.

    Any help is very much appreciated.

    Best regards to all,

    Clay

    If it is a neck ribbon it could go with "Großkreuz des Eisernen Kreuzes" which was awarded to only 5 persons, very rare.

    •Paul von Hindenburg (9. Dezember 1916)
    •Kaiser Wilhelm II. (11. Dezember 1916)
    •August von Mackensen (9. Januar 1917)
    •Leopold von Bayern (4. März 1918)
    •Erich Ludendorff (24. März 1918)

      ribbon

      You need close ups of the side section it does not look correct from this picture as it shows one end with loops and the other looks to not have them. Also tell by the weave from a close up picture. So if you would please post it .

        It's a Prussian Kriegsband for a neck decoration. Could be Red Eagle Order, Crown Order or Hohenzollern House Order in addition to the Grand Cross of the Iron Cross.

        However I agree it doesn't look that good from the one photo.

        If you can post a good photo like this, it can be better judged:
