I don't think he's a black guy. Look at the structure of his face.

              Hi!
What about an extreme tan? Check out the guy below him- or the hands of the men next to him ( plus dirt ?) ...these people spent a lot of their time outdoors.
As to the unit: The sign says "Telephone Station" plus "Shelter (against flyers)" -
possibly the crew of the communication unit posed in front of their working facilities.
              Regards
              Hagrid

I recently saw a book written by a German African whose mother was German and father was a diplomat from somewhere in Africa. Although he was born and raised in Germany, spoke fluent German, he was denied the right to join the hj. I didn't buy the book, and later someone else did, but there was an interesting photo of him wearing a hj buckle .
He received a lot of prejudice from his peers, till he kicked a few A_ _ es ,After the War he traveled the world and met lots of celebrities. His hero was joe Lewis.

There were black soldiers in the German armed forces, but that dude isn't one of them in my opinion.
                        Best regards,

In the imperial german army there were no Blacks. They only had the Askaris
in the colonies. The only blacks and asian guys came for education.
