Picked this up in a group of different items, I assume it is fake but can't be sure, can I get confirmation that it is a copy?

Hi Steve,

I'd agree. Imo not a period hinge/pin/catch assembly, solid reverse (which looks to have cast pockmarking) and poor detail on the obverse. Not for me.

Is there a trace on the rim that the backpart was attached as a single piece or is the whole badge one-pice solid construction?

The badge is a one piece solid construction with the hinge and catch soldered on.
