    Imperial medals - help please

    Hi Guys,

Well out of my knowledge zone...I've seen three medal bars for sale in a local collectors shop. All cost about the same amount. I want to buy one to display with a WW1 bayonet. Which set are the best, in your opinion.
If you can tell me what they are, that would be great too.

Sorry about the busy photo. They are on a glass top display cabinet with all the other stuff in the background!

    Many thanks in anticipation.

    Kevin.

    Hey Kevin,

All three sets are for men who served in WWI, and survived into the Third Reich. One shows continued service in the Third Reich as well (lower left).

Just on eye appeal I would go for the one on the top. Next to the EK2 are the EK2 equivalents from Mecklenburg and Anhalt. At the end are some Austro-Hungarian service medals. The set is court-mounted in the northern style, which looks better in my personal opinion, and the medal selection is nicest, also in my opinion.

The other two show Wurttemburg and Bavaria service, and some others.

You've asked a very subjective question, so please wait for other opinions.
    Best regards,
    Streptile

I also would have taken the top one due to the Anhalt cross. And is has the nicest mounting.

If it were my cash, I'd get the Meklenburg bar.
The medal combo is more desirable, and the mounting style
is more professional looking. Also easier to display, as everything is nice
        and tight.

Agree the top one. Anhalt always nice to have on a bar.

I agree with the others. The Bavarian one is also a nice one.
