      By "movable Ring" are you referring to small ring at the top of the cross that holds the ribbon suspension ring?

                    crosses would be soldered one sided ,,or on 2 sides with some makers .

                    this a repair 100%

                      That is what I thought, the drilling is fairly crude. I would be surprised if it was not a repair.

                        for me thats not a repair....
                        reason is that i saw to "much" of these with exact that .
                        first i thought also that its a repair,because of the drilled hole,but i saw other crosses with exact the same matching ring......and as i know,even some 1813 prinzen are made in that way
                        And we talk about a 1870.....sure the drilled hole looks crude,but we cant forgett,that we allways look at macromade pics and at such big pics all looks a bit different than normal
