Big Pin Vaulted EK1 with Interesting Hinge

    Title says it all...

I'm pretty sure I don't have a duplicate of this one in my collection. Anyone have a similar example--marked or unmarked?

This is what is interesting to me--the hinge is mounted at an angle.

        Hi Eric,

I've not seen one like it, at least not with that hinge/pin/catch anyway. Any chance the hinge is a replacement as it looks like there's some toning/patina difference around the base of the hinge? The size of the pin makes the cross look like a Prinzen!

Not 100% sure what to make of it either. Can't figure out if the core details are poor (a la KO quality) or whether the worn finish is biasing me. The inner edges of the cross arms don't seem to be particularly well curved for a 1914er.

        Interesting.

The variety of 1914EKs seems endless, which is why I find them fascinating.

        Regards

Sorry to say this, but I don't like this EK.
