Officer Degen - Eisenhauer garantiert, damast blade

    Hi Guys
Trying to find out what type of degen this is. I only find similar PREUSSEN types with the eagle on the crossguard and a monogram on the handle.

    Degen M 1889 für Offiziere.

    Best regards
    Bjorn

Very nice! Can you make an additional pic of the cross guard, with the two lions and the shield?

Almost all other swords i have found have a monogram on the handle and the imperial eagle on the crossguard anyone know why this one hasn't ? Diffrent styles purpose or period ?

                Best regards

                  Hi Bjørn,

the cypher on the handle and eagle belong to the prussian IOD (Infantry officer sword). This one is from the kingdom of Saxony - so it is a completly different model and nationality - but everything is fine with your sword - and it has a royal cypher too - but etched to the blade.

                  regards

The cypher is 'AR' ...see the link for a similar sword
