I have the Hindenburg Cross for Combatants doc too, but that's pretty standard and not informative, so I won't post it.

              George-

I don't have any pictures handy but...

              1. Long Service Medal 3rd Class
              2. EK2
              3. Wound Badge in Black (1 wound)
              4. EK1

Nice group!! The EK2 is early - from October 1914 and the EK1 is from just about two weeks after the Armistice (from actions in October, 1918).

Also, it's nice to see a Wound Badge from during the war when most wound badges were given after November, 1918.

                  Rich,

I've been told that it's the Prussian IX years service medal. (Now to find a pic!)

The group didn't come with the Service Award, but here are the rest of the medals. The EK 2 is marked "S-W." The EK 1 is a one-piece striking made of iron.

Very cool! Proof positive that a Prussian LS medal was awarded AFTER the war for war time service.
If you look at the OMSA website you'll find this LS medal-as well as do a search here for "long service third class"

Just to round this out, here's the soldier's WW 1 Honor Cross document (doc "trimmed" in the scanner).
