Something went a tiny bit wrong :)

    Hello
That Bar i wanted to show, sure a normal common Bar but still very rare.
The Cross never was opened or the Ring attached newly.
Also a nice Example when it comes to Textbookpieces and how a Cross must be made.....that here also passed the Qualitycontroll.
    greets

Looks like someone started their weekend too early at the factory!
        Great piece!

Very interesting...... wonder how it got past quality control.... early Friday celebrating or very hung over Monday morning lol. Definitely makes the value higher than a normal EKII & Hindy medal bar

When this bar was put together the Imperial system was long gone by 16 years or so. Could have been an 'inside' joke by who ever assembled the EK and the medalbar. I think it was deliberate and not an oversight.
Interesting for sure. I would have bought it.

If I was awarded an EK, I'd want mine to look like that; whenever, I wore it,I could look down at it with pride , AND it would be right-side-up just for me.

Can anyone identify the maker of the EK?

I had a couple like this when I had my EK collection, neither showed any signs of being tampered with. I had another one that had the ' 1914 ' neatly ground off . ?? Ferg

Has anyone seen this "variant" mentioned in a book or publication dated from between the wars?

I would be curious how this was referred to at that time.
