Mini EK spange on ribbon bar

I recently acquired this ribbon bar, I've read a few other threads and just wondered what the current concensus on their authencity. Would it be fair to say that the device ( which is tiny ) is an unofficial, but period adornment. Or is it a much later addition. And does the device originally come from a stickpin? Any comments welcome.

Hello Richard,

in my opinion the spange is added and does not belong to this ribbon bar. No detail, too small like it seems... To go further, i don´t even believe it to be real. Sorry for the bad news.
