Strange Ribbon

What do you make of this ribbon.Looks to me that the cross and ribbon have been together for a very long time and were worn in this manner.Any thoughts?

I think this is a poor mans version of the regular clasp - handmade in lack of money, not being able to afford the "real thing"...

Definitely not commercially made. Most likely homemade to wear at vet reunions etc.
These pieces to me show the respect that a grizzled old or young vet had for his hard earned award. Shows pride.

Maybe we should have a thread that shows these interesting 'folk art' types of presentation.

Definitely shows age and wear. It was worn with pride despite the recipient was poor. Looking at the pics, is this a standard EK ribbon or are the white stripes stitched to black ribbon separately?
