I recently came in to posession of what I think is a long service award. Unfortunately the time I spent painstakingly cropped and resizing the photo I took have been wasted as its not disappeared from my hard drive. But a description may be sufficient. It is a cross with swords in a gold gilt colour, with the words Allzeit Beriet on the obverse. Any help would be appreciated, I'll endeavour to post a pic tomorrow

It's a private purchase veteran's award from the 1920's. They're discussed in a few earlier threads of the forum this one being the most complete. Quite often, they appear with bars indicating the wearer's previous unit affiliation, and thus it's been possible to (with as much accuracy as anything related to the chaotic subject of Weimar-era decorations - in other words, with plenty of exceptions) chart more or less which ribbon is associated with which branch of service.

Thanks Chris, I appreciate the help, I'll check out those previous threads. Chip, here is a pic showing the ribbon, I'm not sure if its original or has just been married up with the medal at a later date. Any idea on the value of these, I've just bought a nice little medal bar, and so may have to part with this.Attached Files

Richard,
I bought one without the ribbon from another forum member for $15.00 plus postage. If you look at the other postings on the subject of this medal, the ribbon on yours does not show up. Most of them have central stripes of different colors. I would be interested in getting another one if yours is in that price range.
Regards,
Chip
