The guy didn't do anything and never saw any actual combat. He was at Saarlouis camp as a phone operator and doesn't seem to have left it. He demob-ed in Coblenz on Dec. 1 1918. The two vet medals are the kind of unofficial bling available in the 1920s to fill an otherwise empty chest. There's nothing, though to connect the medals to him, per se.

Everything is genuine, of course but pretty uninspiring. Really, an entry level assortment.
