Dorotheum 1870 EKI 9th bead fake with period case

Even so called experts makes misstakes. Saddest thing is that good Dr. Georg Ludwigstorff didn't even get back to me when emailed him. Just told him he needed to get a second look at the cross, mothing more but he choose to be silent.

Someone paid 1800€ (+vat & 25% hammer fee) for a fake cross with a period case.

I guess it's hard for him to admit that he's wrong. Especially when there is that much
      money at stake.

Email might have got stuck sonewhere, maybe in a spam folder, who knows. Still might expect more of one of the worlds best and oldest auction firms.

They accept returns so no harm done but buyer needs to know so cross don't end up somewhere else.

Why should he care about if you had sent him an email?

The only thing what -they all want- is making a lot of cash (Provision).

                  Case for EK I 1870

The case is a perfect original piece from the time of awarding the EK I 1870 and it is very rare. The price realized in the auction is worth the case. The EK is only for the trash.

Hi Andy and thank you for the post, I have a 1870 1st class case that is maroon just like the one shown and wasnt sure if it was period or jubilee type. Very nice, thanks again. TPK
