VAULTED .800 SILVER EK1 in YESTERDAY, PRIVATE PURCHASE, JEWELER MADE???

Hello folks. This came in yesterday....from all appearances, a very nice, presumably private purchase or jeweler made 1st class EK...I assume private purchase or jeweler made due to its construction..seems a non-standard pin / hinge / catch arrangement (w/ oval base plate)...only marking extant is an ".800" on the pin as the photos will show. Nicely vaulted, and shows some honest mileage and wear. Am I correct in my assumption that this is more than likely a private purchase item? A few quick snaps below...(sorry they're a bit fuzzy), and appreciate any feedback.

      Nice worn piece.
Probably a private purchase piece, who will tell for sure?
      The catch is repaired.

I agree with Nightstalker........nice worn piece
Looks like the catch is period repaired, but its not good to see!

Thanks for the feedback gents. Yes, a period-repaired catch is most definitely a possibility. There are some horizontal scratch marks beneath the oval plate, indicative of the surface being prepped for a re-solder job. It was very neatly done, and if this indeed the case, I've no doubt that it was done back in the day. Me personally, I think it adds some charm to the piece, to know that it was done so that it could continue to be worn... I've always preferred pieces that show some honest mileage to those that never saw daylight.... Thx again for the feedback.
