2 orders of Eiserne Krone 2nd class

Hello!

I would like to get opinions about this two Medal of Second Class Iron Crown.
Second one made from metal and with K.D. colorful look ok to me.
But EIS.Krone from GOLD looks strange, special two holes on bothsides.
Maybe in the wrong?

Well, in my opinion, as said, both pieces are original and the gold one is a fine, Rothe-made Eiserne Krone II Klasse FD (Friedens-Dekoration or for peacetime).

The gilt piece with Kriegsdekoration, from what I see in the pictures, actually is a 3rd Class decoration, typical for its "large" Lombardy's Crown and a somewhat longer ribbon-ring. In other words, this particular type, is a well-known "oversize" 3rd Class. Measuring the double eagle itself (from wing to wing and heads-tail) it should be of the regular size of a 3rd Class, possibly, of 1 or 2 mm. more.

That's why I've asked for the size. Better not to pay a breast badge of 3rd class to the price of a higher one...

Sorry for late reply. I have the same opinion and in this time I get two e-mail from old collectors of KuK that both orders re original.

I have the same question for bronze piece , what size is it ! Because from the pics is hard to say measures of the order.

What is the normal size of 2nd class order Mr.Enzo ?

This gilt bronze piece, is a 3rd Class piece, of the type with oversize Lombardy's Crown and longer ring.

I apologize for not having had the time to take home my 2nd Classes and measure them thoroughly. I will do that as soon as possible.

I confirm that the measures you report, are correct for 2nd and 3rd class (with possible, little "deviations", of course!).

An "oversize" 3rd Class has more or less the same value of a "normal" gilt piece: they're just a curiosity...

Seller just sold 2nd class in GOLD for 2,5k. so I will need to find another order in gold. But this order was also with dent, havy worn on back side, small part was missing on the right wings, than this two uncommon holes..
If you will know for nice anothe EKO 2 klasse in gold please let me know !

This order eisernen crown was purchased in LA GALERY NUMIZMATIQUE a few days ago. The Seller has sold and II. class.

For him I paid 1350 EUR

I can not tell him that he made a mistake and give me back the money.

I do not know what should be done ...

What is your opinion or what would be the price if it is actually to III. class.

sorry for having seen this new messages this late.

Actually, it's a 3rd Class decoration, of the "oversize" type from ca. 1917/'18. The price paid, I need to say, is above the actual value of such a piece.

Were any size info on the catalogue?
