    Non combatant ribbon for EK

    Hello,

I have had this non combatant ribbon for some time, so I got curious if it is a good original. So I made some pictures of the ribbon, but I don't know if the pics are good enough to determine if good or not. Just say if better pics are required and what kind of pictures so I will make some better pics.

I have no acces to Blacklight and have neither done a burn test because the ribbon is in that way intact with no loose ends. So I don't want to start tear on it.

I have compared to a fake one I have and this one felt softer and was not as "stiff" as the repro one.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Best regards,
    Daniel

Hard to say it could be good or bad.
I always prefer to find a good conditioned non combatant bar.

Well I was thinking on if someone could tell of the stiching and knots if it is a good original or just lately made.

        Best regards,
        Daniel

You can also find Repro ones with that style. That question is hard to answer.

                  I give you some tips

because I do not want you to stop wondering

                  A get yourself a microscope
B by the aye you have a reasonable balanced even and steady weaving
C by the microscope it will not be so ,
thin and thicker treads unevenly next to each other ,
( hopefully you will see a mess)

D important to know to that the older silk or fabric gets
the less elastic it gets older.
one tread of 100 years fabric or silk brakes easily
                  not so fore 1939 fabric
all do modern 2015 fabric will win in a breaking test .

E the older fabric and silk the more collar loss ,,,Grey yellowish withe it will be after 100 years
all do thee and coffee suppose to do such tricks to.

F withe on black silk will be disappearing after 100 years ,,( pealing of so to speak )
                  that can not be faked

                  go one and learn

                  regards kay
